污染等級（pollution degree）為基於導電/吸濕性塵埃、離子化氣體或鹽分之量及相對濕度致吸濕或凝露而降低介電強度之約定數值（IEC 61439-1 §3.6.9，源自 IEC 60947-1）。分 PD1~PD4 四級。內部微環境（SB-063）污染等級可因外殼/加熱異於外部巨環境（SB-064，Note 1+2）。決定沿面距離（SB-055）最小值。
白話說明
污染等級是「用一個約定數字（PD1~PD4）表示環境污染嚴重程度」——數字越大表示導電灰塵、鹽分、濕氣越多、絕緣越容易受影響。它直接決定沿面距離要留多長。注意：配電盤內部（微環境）的污染等級可能因為有外殼或加熱而比外部（巨環境）低。

<of environmental conditions> conventional number based on the amount of conductive or hygroscopic dust, ionized gas or salt, and on the relative humidity and its frequency of occurrence resulting in hygroscopic absorption or condensation of moisture leading to reduction in dielectric strength and/or surface resistivity Note 1 to entry: The pollution degree to which the insulating materials of devices and components are exposed may be different from that of the macro-environment where the assemblies are located because of protection offered by means such as an enclosure or internal heating to prevent absorption or condensation of moisture. Note 2 to entry: For the purpose of this document, the pollution degree is of the micro-environment inside the assembly, unless otherwise stated in the applicable clause.
